The Allen-Bradley 140U-K6D3-D40-A Circuit Breaker is a K-Frame Molded Case Circuit Breaker with a supply voltage of 480 Volts, an interrupting rating of 65 kA, a rated current of 400 Amps, and a 3-pole configuration. It has only one Auxiliary Contact (AX) module which is an internal control module. Other modules that are factory-assembled include the Alarm Contact (AL), Shunt Trip (SNT), and Undervoltage Release (UVT) module. Each internal module has its own function in the circuit breaker, for instance, the Auxiliary Contact electrically shows when the breaker is either on or off. The Alarm Contact electrically shows the breaker’s status if it is tripped. The Shunt Trip shows the tripping of the circuit breaker remotely, but when it is used, the Undervoltage trip is not available. The Undervoltage Release is used if the preset value drops to between 35 and 70% of the rated and it automatically trips the breaker. When the Undervoltage Release is in use, the Shunt Trip is normally not available.
The Allen-Bradley 140U-K6D3-D40-A Circuit Breaker provides a Fixed Thermal/Adjustable Magnetic type of trip protection. It provides protection to circuits against short-circuits, ground faults, and overloading. It is approved for global applications by the IEC, CSA, CCC, and UL standards. It has also been certified by the CCC, CE Mark, CSA, and UL list standards and it is appropriate for use with IE3 Motors (IEC 60034-30). The 140U-K6D3-D35 Circuit Breaker has a storage temperature range from -40 to 176 degrees Fahrenheit (-40 to 80 degrees Celsius) and a maximum ambient temperature rating of 104 degrees Fahrenheit (40 degrees Celsius) without derating. The Allen-Bradley 140U-K6D3-D40-A Circuit Breaker is a compact device with dimensions of 140 x 108.5 x 205 millimeters.
