It is an Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation Switched Mode Power Supply. This module comes with an input power rating of 480 Watts, and a current rating of 20 Amps. Other specifications include three-phase input, a nominal input frequency of 50 to 60 Hertz, and an input voltage of 380 to 480 Volts AC or 24 to 28 Volts DC. The 1606-XL480E-3 power supply has an inrush nominal current of 1.5 Amps and a maximum inrush current of 15 Amps. It features LED indicators with a rated output current of 20 Amps and a current rating of 20 Amps at 24 Volts DC, and 18 Amps at 28 Volts DC. It also features the redundancy module options that allow for backup power in critical industrial applications. The 1606-XL480E-3 module has a compact footprint that is designed to help minimize the occupied space on the panel. The inrush current limiting of this unit is done by a fixed 47R resistor and not by a thermistor, which is bridged while the unit is in operation to minimize losses. This means there is no need for a reset time even at a warm-start.
