|

The 1606-XL60DR power supply from Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation is designed to operate as a redundant power supply in an industrial machine system. It is part of the Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation 1606 series of switched mode power supplies. This redundant power supply module acts as the backup power supply that activates when the system?s main power supply fails for any reason, and it helps to prevent data losses and operating errors. The 1606-XL60DR redundant power supply has 60 Watts of rated output power. This power supply?s output voltage rating is 24 Volts DC and its input voltage ratings are 100 to 120 Volts AC and 200 to 240 Volts AC, and the input voltage ratings are manually selectable.

The Allen-Bradley 1606-XL60DR power supply is a 24 Volts DC rated 1606 redundant power supply. This NEC Class 2 power supply is used in N+1 redundant power supply systems. This means that there is always 1 power supply backup unit in place if any single power supply unit fails in the system. The unit is able to work both with AC and DC voltages at the input side. With the switch in the 230 Volts position, the 1606-XL60DR power supply operates at 100 to 120 Volts AC voltages or with 220 to 240 Volts AC. For DC power, anything between 160 and 375 Volts DC is acceptable. All this data shows the flexibility of the 1606-XL60DR power supply, which also has all the relevant industrial certifications and exceptional load characteristics. The unit is also able to prevent short-circuits and overloads in the control circuits connected to the output side.

The Allen-Bradley 1606-XL60DR power supply has a compact and heat-optimized IP 20 enclosure with a design that saves installation space. The unit requires only 49 millimeters x 124 millimeters x 102 millimeters of installation space. It weighs 0.47 kilograms. The 1606-XL60DR power supply is easily mountable onto a DIN rail. It can also be easily connected and disconnected electrically by using pluggable Combicon® connectors (both on the input and output side). The input and output wires used with this device must be between 0.2 and 2.5 millimeters squared in gauge. It is advised to protect this switched-mode power supply unit with a 10 Amps slow-acting fuse. When operating this power supply in a parallel connection, the device implements the current sharing via the soft characteristic.
