The Allen-Bradley 1606-XLDC40A converter is a DC/DC converter with MOSFET inverse battery protection. This 1606 converter has an input voltage rating of 18 to 36 Volts DC, and it delivers 5.1 Volts DC, 8 Amps, and 40 Watts at the output side. It is designed to be mounted onto the industry-standard DIN rail mount. If the users need to install it to a wall, a wall bracket set can be purchased separately. The converter includes 2 aluminum brackets and 1 slider made of plastic. The 1606-XLDC40A converter can be installed in applications such as battery-buffered power supply networks or safety-related applications. The unit is equipped with electronic short-circuit and overload protection. It also monitors its internal temperature and shuts down the output when overheating is detected. This protective feature operates with an automatic restart feature. Inverted polarity is regulated via low-loss MOSFET protection, and no fuse replacement is necessary if the device is improperly connected to a battery.
