The 1606-XLP15A module is an Allen-Bradley manufactured switched-mode power supply module. It is also commonly referred to as an SMPS device. The main function of an SMPS device is to use a regulator for efficient power conversion in a machine. It also helps to transfer power from an AC/DC source to DC loads. This module is part of the 1606 switched-mode power supply series from Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation. The SMPS operates with 100 to 240 Volts AC input voltage and it generates 15 Watts of power with a regular load condition. On the outer surface of the 1606-XLP15A module, a screw/spring clamped terminal is present. The device is compact and it can fit even in small spaces. It is also highly portable. The output current rating of this SMPS is 3 Amps. The device uses a “DC OK” signal for normal operation. Also, the output voltage of the device is adjustable. The device operates with minimum heat generation.

The 1606-XLP15A module is an industry-grade power supply module. It is a single-phase device which is leading the industry with its minimized heat output and other running costs. The normal input frequency of the SMPS device is 50 to 60 Hertz. The nominal current flowing through this SMPS device is 0.17 Amps. The 1606-XLP15A module is rated with an IP 20 rating. It is not water-resistant and it should be protected from liquid sprays. The SMPS can be mounted by using the DIN-Rail mounting base supplied with the device. For normal operation, the temperature of the installation area should be between -10 and 70 degrees Celsius. The device meets different standards, including the UL 508, IEC 60950, EN 60950, and CE standards. The device can also be used to stabilize the DC voltage when it is used with long cables.
