The 1606-XLP15B module is an Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation power supply module. A switched-mode power supply is used to rectify and smooth the main power input directly and use a transistor to switch the high DC voltage on and off at a high frequency. It is a power supply module which controls and stabilizes the output voltage by changing the load current. The range of the input voltage ranges from 100 to 240 Volts AC. The device generates 15 Watts of output power. Either side of the power unit is equipped with a screw/spring clamp terminal. The 1606-XLP15B module has an output current rating of 1.3 Amps. The module can run properly at a height of up to 2000 meters above sea level without getting derated. The maximum operating temperature of the unit should not exceed 70 degrees Celsius. The module comes with an IP 20 protection rating only. It should be protected against water sprays and splashes and it should be kept away from moist and wet locations. The module is 83% efficient and it has an MTBF rating of 3,811,000 hours.

The 1606-XLP15B module comes with a maximum inrush current rating of 16 Amps. The nominal voltage of the power unit is 230 Volts AC. The SMPS meets different standards, including the EC, IEC, and UL standards, and it has been certified with the CE rating. For normal operation, the power unit should be installed in a place with 95% maximum relative humidity. The 1606-XLP15B module comes with standard protection against short circuits. It also features the over-voltage protection and it meets the NEC Class 2 protection standards. The device can also be used in parallel operation for redundancy or to gain higher output power.
