The Allen-Bradley 1606-XLSDNET4 power supply is a DeviceNet series power supply unit. It is used to power a wide variety of equipment such as PLCs, sensors, sensitive electronics, computers, battery-operated devices, and other apparatus requiring reliability and high levels of efficiency. The 1606-XLSDNET4 power supply works with input voltages between 100 and 240 Volts AC. The input terminals are located on the bottom of the unit. On the upper part, there are duplicated terminals for DC output that is 24 Volts rated (24.1 Volts ±0.2%). Next to these output terminals, there are terminals for DC digital signaling. There are 2 LED status lights on the front of the device. The DC green LED turns on if the output voltage is greater than 21.2 Volts DC and it will turn off if there is a short-circuit or temperature overload situation. The red overload LED light turns on in overload situations.
The Allen-Bradley 1606-XLSDNET4 power supply is made with quick-connect, bi-stable spring clamp terminals that do not require any tools for inserting the wires. At the input side, 0.5-4 mm2 sized wires are permitted, and 0.3 to 2.5 mm2 wires are permitted at the output side. The 1606-XLSDNET4 power supply is a switched-mode power supply type of unit that has many advantages over the traditional linear AC to DC power supply units. It has reduced power consumption and heat dissipation (only 7.5 to 8 Watts are dissipated as heat), and its size and weight are considerably smaller. There are no capacitive and inductive load limitations for this device. The unit should be installed in an electrical cabinet or in areas where moisture will condense on the power supply.
