The 1609-B600N is an Uninterruptible Power Supply that is manufactured by Allen-Bradley. Uninterruptible Power Supply are widely used in industrial applications, typically for Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) workstation for preventing improper shutdown of workstation computers. Additionally, UPS may also be locally installed inside control panels to maintain power to control devices during power fluctuations. Typical powered devices are Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), Human Machine Interface (HMI), 24VDC power supplies and other control components. UPS devices also prevents unwanted shutdown to process or machines. This UPS also has integral circuit protection such as Surge, Overload, Output Short in online mode, Output Short in battery mode and Thermal protection. The 1609-B600N industrial uninterruptible power supply unit is applied in systems where backup power is necessary due to constant operation and where losses may occur if power is down. The component is part of the 1609-B series that is made by Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation.The 1609-B600N UPS unit provides an excellent support for systems that need to operate with high availability. This model is intended for a 120 Volts AC nominal input voltage and it has a power capacity of 360 Watts (600 Volt-Amps). In addition to that, the power supply unit has a wide online voltage range of 96 to 138 Volts, AC along with 5.4 Amps of nominal current. The 1609-B600N power supply does not include a power factor correction (PFC) capability and it operates on 50 to 60 Hertz frequency with a deviation of 3 Hertz in either direction. The typical efficiency with resistive loads is 80% (on battery) and 94% (online). The 1609-B600N power supply unit operates on a lead-acid battery that is completely sealed and rechargeable. The battery needs about 12 hours to reach 90% capacity and it can last for 5 minutes at 25 degrees Celsius and a full load. The battery has 24 Volts DC voltage and it can be either the 12 Volts DC and 5 Amps per hour type or the 12 Volts DC and 5.5 Amps per hour type. If the power supply unit is used in the standard industrial applications for which it is intended, the battery can last up to 3 years within the designated ambient temperature range. The 1609-B600N 1609-B series power supply unit is made according to all the relevant regulations and it has a standard operating temperature range of 0 to 40 degrees Celsius (32 to 104 degrees Fahrenheit). The unit can operate at altitudes of up to 2000 meters and it weighs about 6.6 kilograms (14.5 pounds).
