The 1609-NMC network management card is designed and manufactured as an accessory for the industrial uninterruptible power supply (UPS) modules in the 1609 series that are manufactured by Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation. This management card enables the use of Ethernet communications, and it is not a replacement part but an accessory that needs to be ordered separately from the Allen-Bradley catalog.

The Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation 1609-NMC network management card is the only means available to provide a network to UPS devices. Although it is an optional part, it will provide functions that the unit is not able to perform by itself. These functions enable the users to control the unit remotely without needing to be in the same place as the unit. This card is a standard feature on double-conversion online UPS units with a rating of 5 kVA or higher. Like any other electronic part, the Allen-BradleyRockwell Automation 1609-NMC network management card can perform at specific operating conditions such as a temperature that does not exceed 40 degrees Celsius, a humidity level between 0 and 95% without condensation, and a maximum altitude of 3000 meters. If these conditions are not met, the lifespan and operation of the card may be compromised.
