The 1609-P8000E is an uninterruptible power supply unit that is manufactured and designed by Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation. This industrial power supply unit is an important part of an industrial system that performs at the highest level in the most demanding working conditions. The 1609-P series offers several options in order to match different application requirements. The 1609-P8000E power supply unit has an output of 8000 Volt-Amps or 6400 Watts and it is rated as a 208 Volts AC nominal or 230 Volts AC rated unit. The default voltage range of this power supply unit is 160 to 280 Volts AC. In addition to that, the unit has a current of 30 Amps nominal and 40 Amps maximum. This unit can run for 5 to 7 minutes on a full load and 13 to 18 minutes at a half load when the battery is charged. The supplied battery charges within 3 hours to a capacity of 85%, which is enough for normal operation. The 192 Volts AC seal lead-acid battery is regulated with A valve and it is replaceable.

The 1609-P8000E power supply unit includes a 70 Amps rated input circuit breaker and IEC 1000-4-4 rated surge protection. Also, the unit has thermal protection, along with an overload protection of 125% for 1 minute and of 150% for 30 seconds. This 1609-P unit is made in accordance with safety standards such as the UL 1778, IEC 60950, CSA, CE, and cULus standards.  The 1609-P8000E power supply unit enables DB9 communication through serial and contact closures, along with EPO communication through the contact closure alone. In addition to that, the network communication is enabled through a network management card. This power supply unit comes with several status indicators and controls that are very valuable for easy and intuitive operation. The LED status indicators give information on the status of the bypass mode, battery, battery replacement time, faults, and different bar graphs. On the front panel of the 1609-P8000E power supply unit, there are controls which include the on-switch, test controls, alarm silencer, load off, and cold start control. Besides that, the unit includes audible signals for battery status, failures, and bypass situations.
