The 1719-IJ is an intrinsically safe distributed I/O platform. It has been designed and manufactured by Allen-Bradley. It comes from the Bulletin series of devices made by Allen-Bradley. It is a single-channel device and it is a frequency counter module. It has a rated voltage of 12 Volts DC. It accepts digital input signals from the NAMUR sensors or from the mechanical contacts. The 1719-IJ comes with a digital input of maximum 15 Kilohertz. It takes input for the frequency, counter, and the direction of the rotation. This module can be mounted in both vertical and horizontal ways in Zone 2 environments. The 1719-IJ module comes with various sensors. It has an internal resistance of 1 Kilo Ohm. It also has LED indicators which show different information. The green LED is for a supply fault and the red is for a line fault.
The 1719-IJ comes with a logic selecting feature. The logic can be either positive or negative. It also features a simulation mode for replicating service operations. Line Fault Detection (LFD) is also available in this variant. It automatically detects faulty events and alerts the users. It has a self-monitoring mechanism. It comes with a squared unshielded wire which is between 0.14 and 0.15 millimeters in area. The counter module comes with a screen showing different information. It has an enhanced diagnostic function and it displays information in a tabular format. This module supports the Hart 7 protocol, which is considered as an industry standard for digital communication and for connecting with microprocessor-enabled smart field devices. It dissipates 0.6 Watts of power and it consumes the same amount of power. The terminal screw torque is 0.22 to 0.25 N-m. The 1719-IJ has been marked with various certifications like the ATEX, CE, CE-Tick, RCM, UL, cUL, and the Zone 2 or Class 1 certifications. This counter device can work properly in hazardous environments. The device is electromagnetic-compatible. and it is resistant to shock and vibrations. The running temperature has been set in the range between -20 degrees and 60 degrees Celsius.
