The 1774-PD module is classified under the Allen-Bradley 1774 PLC module series. The 1774-PD module features a compact design, and this can be installed in an area with small space. The module's I/O type can be selected and the number of points used for managing the module can be increased to a more favorable number if necessary. The 1774-PD module features an ambient operating temperature range of 0 to 50 degrees Celsius. The ambient humidity level for safe operation is 10% to 90%, non-condensing. In storage, the ambient temperature range is from -20 degrees Celsius to 60 degrees Celsius, while the ambient storage humidity range is 5% to 95% Relative humidity none condensing. The 1774-PD module should be installed inside the control panel. The module comes with status indicator lights. The LED indicators show the module's on and off status and the idle status and they are used to monitor the performance of the device.
To ensure the proper performance of the 1774-PD module, ensure that it is connected correctly to the power supply. Note that incorrect wiring can result in component damage or user injury. Before connecting the module, ensure that the power is switched off. Failing to switch off the power during the installation or repair of the device can result in electrical shock. The 1774-PD module features surge suppression circuitry. The surge suppression circuitry helps to ensure that the device is protected from any short-circuiting. The output circuitry uses the RC network that limits the magnitude of the voltage transients that occur whenever the device is wired in a parallel formation or in a series with the hard contacts. The 1774-PD module also comes with fuses for protecting the module circuitry from overloading. Some of the module outputs are fused individually and some have a single fuse for all the module circuits.
