The unit is programmed to scan the processor-resident local I/O synchronously to the program scan. The I/O modules communicate with the unit expanders over the backplane. Note that the master or expander controller combinations support time sharing on the backplane. The 1774-RP3 programmable controller's backup system contains up to two hardware components. Note that the component does not back up the I/O in the processor-resident local chassis. The users should not install the I/O in the processor-resident local chassis of the backed up system. The programmable controller's design and construction provide a well-planned layout that is essential for proper installation.
