The Allen-Bradley 1774-SL scanner module features an ADR user memory space of 256K with a supported scanner CCV feature. The scanner CCV feature ensures the optimization of the RSNetWorx. The 1774-SL module comes with different operating modes. For example, the module features the slave mode that allows the processor to process communication and it also enables the scanner to successfully integrate to a slave device on another master device. When set to the slave mode, the scanner exchanges data with only a single master device. This allows the users to easily control what information is exchanged through the scan list configuration. The 1774-SL module also supports a change of state, which is a functionality that is meant to allow the scanner module to perform a scan at a specific send rate.
The 1774-SL scanner module features a module status indicator and a network status indicator. The network status indicator shows the DeviceNet channel communication link. The LED indicators are found on the front of the module. When the indicator light is off, this means that there is no power connected to the device. When the LED light turns green, this means that there is power applied to the module and that the module is operating normally. The 1774-SL module features pass-through communication that helps in communicating with the DeviceNet network from another network. When installing the unit, ensure the chassis power supply has been disconnected. Note that inserting or removing the module while the backplane power is switched on could result in an electrical arc. This can result in an explosion.
