The Allen-Bradley 1791-0B32 is a 1791 Discrete DC Block I/O Module. It is a remote I/O device containing all necessary elements like a programmable controller interface, power supply, input/output connections and a signal generating circuit. The 1791-0B32 is compatible with the PLC-2, PLC-3, PLC-5/250 and the PLC-5 series of programmable controllers, and the SLC 5/02 series of modular controllers. It is a cost-effective mounting for smaller, less expensive enclosures for various applications such as packaging, material handling, and operator interface panels. The 1791-0B32 module is a Series B with 24V DC nominal voltage and 300mA current requirement. It has 32 outputs per block and dimensions of 6.95 x 4.35 x 3.85 in. It has output current rating of 500mA at 60 °C for vertical mounting and 250mA at 60 °C for horizontal mounting. The 1791-0B32 has a maximum power dissipation of 19.2W and maximum thermal dissipation of 65.5 BTU/hr. It has minimum On-state Current of 1mA per output, a maximum On-state voltage drop of 1V at the rated current, and a maximum Off-state leakage current of 0.5mA. The 1791-0B32 has a maximum output signal delay of 0.5ms at On-state and 1.0ms at Off-state. For wiring, 2.0 〖mm〗^2 (14 AWG) solid standard wire with maximum insulation of 3/64 in. should be used. It utilizes Universal Remote I/O communication for distributing I/O at remote locations. The 1791-0B32 module contains removable terminal strips in which power and I/O connections are made, saving maintenance time by eliminating rewiring in case of block replacement. It contains two switch assemblies for setting the starting I/O group, I/O rack number, communication rate, last state, and last chassis. The 1791-0B32 has 1 COMM, 1 STATUS, and 16 I/O Status indicators for monitoring and troubleshooting.
