The Allen-Bradley 2750-AHP antenna is a smart RFID antenna. The antenna can carry out read-only transactions with programmable RFID tags and read/write transactions with read/write RFID tags. In addition to performing transactions with RFID tags, the 2750-AHP antenna can also program the programmable tags. For tag programming, the data transmitted by the antenna is stored in the tag’s EEPROM. The tags can be programmed in a 6-digit, 20-character, or 40-character format. For programmable tags, the read range for the antenna is 4 feet or 122 centimeters, and the programming range is 5 to 7 inches or 13 to 18 centimeters. The operating range of the 2750-AHP antenna for read/write tags is up to 2 feet or 61 centimeters.
The cover plate on the Allen-Bradley 2750-AHP antenna can be removed for accessing the DIP switch and antenna wiring connections. The antenna can be mounted by using mounting holes that are provided on the flanged back plate. LEDs are also provided on the 2750-AHP antenna for diagnostic indications. The power to the 2750-AHP antenna needs to be provided through a transformer which has the catalog number 2750-PA. The input voltage rating is 24 Volts DC and the input current rating is 2 Amps. A 3 Amps and 125 Volts rated fuse is recommended for use on the antenna. The NEMA Type 4, 12, and 13 enclosure of the antenna is made of diecast aluminum. The weight of the 2750-AHP antenna is 14 pounds. Two coaxial cables are required for connecting the antenna to the remote radio head. The operating temperature range for the smart antenna is from 0 to 60 degrees Celsius.
