The Allen-Bradley 2755-DS1A decoder is a Bulletin 2755 series enhanced barcode decoder. It is a single head decoder which has one port for connecting to a scanner. The decoder is housed in a NEMA Type 1 enclosure. An built-in power supply on the decoder provides power to the attached laser scanner and to the decoder. The source power supply voltage can range from 100 to 240 Volts AC at 50 to 60 Hertz. The power supply is designed to automatically adjust to the input voltage. Fourteen LED indicators are provided on the front panel of the 2755-DS1A decoder. An optional 2-line by 20-character alphanumeric LCD screen is available for the decoder. This screen shows the barcode data, decoder performance values, and output counter values.

An AUX port on the 2755-DS1A barcode decoder can be used to interface with an ASCII terminal through the RS-232 communication protocol. The AUX port can be used in 2 operating modes: the decoder configuration mode and manual data entry mode. A host port of the 2755-DS1A barcode decoder enables interfacing with a host computer or an Allen-Bradley programmable logic controller. An IEC 320 power-entry connector is available on the 2755-DS1A barcode decoder. The nominal power consumption of the decoder is 55 VA. With all options, the maximum installed weight of the decoder is 4.5 kilograms. The dimensions of the 2755-DS1A barcode decoder are 10.25 x 12 x 4.57 inches. The operating and storage temperature ranges for the decoder are 0 to 50 degrees Celsius and -40 to 85 degrees Celsius, respectively. The scanner port has a 25-pin female connector.
