The catalog number 1738-232ASCM12 represents an Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation RS-232 ASCII module from the ArmorPoint I/O series of modules. The module comes with an IP 67-rated housing and so it does not have to be installed in an enclosure for additional protection. Additionally, the 1738-232ASCM12 module has a sealed M12 type of connector which is also a micro connector. The module is delivered with the appropriate mounting base for easy and secure mounting and it also includes several LED indicators for providing the users with quick status updates. The 1738-232ASCM12 module has one green/red module status indicator and one green/red network status indicator, along with 2 green TXD/RXD status indicators on the logic side. Additionally, the module has 2 special keyswitch positions.

The supported transmit end delimiter character set on the Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation 1738-232ASCM12 ArmorPoint module is the ASCII character set and the number of supported transmitted characters ranges from 1 to 128.
