The Allen-Bradley 1791D-N4CV2X CompactBlock I/O analog combination expansion module is an analog I/O combination expansion module for the Allen-Bradley 1791D DeviceNet base modules, the 1791P PROFIBUS DP modules, and the 1791R Remote I/O CompactBlock I/O modules. This module uses up minimal panel space and it is a low-cost I/O solution to most industrial automated applications. It also comes with a compact design that fits right into enclosures and confined areas. The 1791D-N4CV2X module contains 4 inputs and 2 outputs that are analog I/O points that can be connected to a base module via a ribbon-like cable connector, and it is compatible with all the 1791D base blocks.

The 1791D-N4CV2X module has 4 single-ended, non-isolated voltage/current inputs and 2 single-ended outputs. It has input and output signal ranges of 0 to 24 milliamps, 0 to 20 milliamps, or 0 to 10 Volts DC, and an input signal resolution of 12 bits. The 1791D-N4CV2X module has a typical update rate 100 milliseconds per channel, and an overall accuracy range of ±0.25% of full scale (voltage and current inputs) and ±0.2% of full scale (voltage and current outputs). The 1791D-N4CV2X module requires an external 24 Volts DC voltage for operation, and it has a maximum input current rating of 100 milliamps. The 1791D-N4CV2X module comes with removable screw-clamp type terminal strips that allow for easy and simplified wiring and installation, and it is shipped with a factory-supplied 4-centimeter ribbon for connecting to the base modules. The node addresses and Baud rates for this module and its corresponding base modules are configured by using rotary switches, and it is compatible with network-based modules for simplified I/O data transfer.
