The Allen-Bradley 1790D-T16BV16B CompactBlock LDX I/O DeviceNet base module is a member of the CompactBlock I/O product family that is comprised of multiple types of Remote I/O distribution blocks that use the DeviceNet network protocol to interconnect the controllers with all the field devices on the plant floor. The 1790D-T16BV16V CompactBlock LDX I/O DeviceNet base module is powered by a 24 Volts DC external power supply. It provides the users with a distribution block of 16 universal inputs and 16 sinking outputs, which the electronic module will consolidate into a single signal that is transmitted to the central processor via the DeviceNet communication network.
The Allen-Bradley 1790D-T16BV16B CompactBlock LDX I/O DeviceNet base module is easy to diagnose and troubleshoot by using its 16 green status indicator LEDs. Like every other DeviceNet base module, it needs an external power source in the range of 11 to 28.8 Volts DC. Its peak power dissipation is approximately 1.2 Watts maximum at 28.8 Volts DC voltage. Given such a low power dissipation, it does not necessarily need forced ventilation or a climate control system for the enclosure where it is installed. Nevertheless, its open type of construction means it should not be located in places with high humidity or with many airborne particles. The Allen-Bradley 1790D-T16BV16B CompactBlock LDX I/O DeviceNet base module is a small device, with dimensions of 52 x 104 x 42 millimeters (2.03 x 4.07 x 1.64 inches), and it can be mounted by using a DIN rail or screws. These versatile CompactBlocks reduce costs and cabling time and simplify fault troubleshooting, helping the plant avoid prolonged downtimes and unwanted process interruptions.
