The ControlNet network is an open, control network for real time, high-throughput applications. The ControlNet network uses the Common Industrial Protocol (CIP) to join the functionality of an I/O network as well as a peer-to-peer network supplying high speed operation for the two functions. The ControlNet network gives you deterministic, repeatable transports of all mission-critical control information in addition to supporting transports of non-time-critical information. I/O control and upgrades -to-control interlocking consistently take precedence over software uploads and downloads and messaging.
