The 1769-IF4 is an analog input module that is used with Allen Bradley’s MicroLogix 1500 and 1769 CompactLogix family of controllers. The Four (4) input channels of this module are individually configured to receive current and voltage signals at ranges of 0-21 mA; 3.2 - 21 mA for Current and ±10.5V DC, -0.5…10.5V DC, -0.5…5.25V DC, 0.5…5.25V DC for Voltage. Nominal current signals are 0-20 mA and 4-20mA and voltage signals available are +/10VDC, 1-5VDC, 0-5VDC, 0-10VDC. This module is integrated with an Analog to Digital (ADC) circuit with conversion type of Delta-Sigma. The module’s conversion resolution are 14 bits or unipolar and 14 bits plus sign or bipolar. The data processed by the module can be configured with data formats as engineering units, scaled for PID, percent range and raw data.
The 1769 Compact I/O modules can be fine-tuned with the provided parameters such as process alarms, input filters, real time sampling, alarm deadband and others. When a channel is enabled, the internal open-circuit detection is automatically enabled. This open circuit detection also activates the under-range error bit of the module. When the errors are detected by the module, it can be made known to the controller and display a non-fatal system error which may be further linked to a monitoring system such as a Human Machine Interface (HMI) or Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA). The Allen-Bradley 1769-IF4 is a Compact I/O analog module. It can convert and store the analog data digitally. Four differential or single-ended channels are available for this module and it can perform auto-calibration when it is enabled initially in a channel or when the channel has a different configuration than that of the previous channel. Note that this module does not provide loop power for analog inputs and that it is necessary to have a power supply that matches the input transmitter’s specifications. The user can wire the 1769-IF4 module’s channels as single-ended or differential inputs. The 1769-IF4 also has a common mode rejection ratio that is greater than 60 dB and a normal mode rejection ratio of -50 dB at 50 to 60 Hertz. It has an open-type enclosure and it can be mounted on a DIN rail or panel mount. The connection cables compatible with the 1769-IF4 are 22-14 AWG solid and 22-16 AWG stranded. This module also comes with an LED status indicator and measures 87 x 35 x 118 millimeters. The 1769-IF4 has input ranges of +/-10 Volts, 0 to 10 Volts, 0 to 5 Volts, 1 to 5 Volts, 0 to 20 mA, and 4 to 20 mA. Its maximum current draw is 5 Volts DC for both Series A and Series B modules and 24 Volts DC for Series B modules. The rated working voltage is 30 Volts AC or DC and the common mode voltage range is +/-10 Volts maximum per channel. The storage temperature requirement of the 1769-IF4 is -40 to 85 degrees Celsius, while its operating temperature is 0 to 60 degrees Celsius. The module’s operating vibration is 5 g at 10 to 500 Hertz and a relay operating vibration of 2 g while s operating shock is 30 g, non-operating shock is 40 g, and relay operation shock is 7.5 g. It also has a 2000-meter operating altitude and a non-condensing relative humidity of 5 to 95%.

The Allen-Bradley 1769-IF4 is a Compact I/O analog input module with Four (4) input channels. This module is designed to interface field devices that sends 0-21 mA and +/- 10VDC analog signals. This module is compatible for use with a 1769 CompactLogix chassis or MicroLogix 1500.
The 1769-IF4 is an analog input module with Four (4) non-isolated channels that may receive 0-20mA and +/-10VDC voltage signal ranges. This module also has a conversion resolution of 14 bits. This module cost less compared to the 1764-IF4I. This due to the lack of channel isolation, making the channels susceptible to ground loop interferences. When installing this module, proper wiring must be observed. Additionally, this module has lower resolution, with 14-Bits, compared to the 1764-IF4I which has 16 Bit resolution. Use this module in less critical applications.
