The Allen-Bradley 1769-L18ERM-BB1B is a member of the CompactLogix 5370 L1 Programmable Automation Controller series. It combines the flexibility of POINT I/O modules and the power of Logix architecture in a small and cost-efficient package. It is ideal for small to mid-sized applications requiring low I/O point and axis motion counts. It has an open socket that allows the use of Modbus TCP and other devices like barcode readers, printers, and servers. It provides Kinematics for simple and articulated robotics. Plus, the 1769-L18ERM-BB1B can support up to 2 CIP motion position loop axes of integrated motion over an EtherNet/IP network for maximized scalability.
The embedded I/O module of the 1769-L18ERM-BB1B comes with 16 sinking digital input points and 16 sourcing digital output points. It also has the capacity to support a local expansion of up to eight modules on the 1734 backplane and 96 I/O points. When using local expansion, the additional modules must be installed to the right of the DIN rail mount 1769-L18ERM-BB1B controller within the same system. The total current draw of the embedded I/O plus the local expansion modules should not exceed the available POINTBus ratings of 1A of backplane current and 3A of field power current.
The 24V DC 1769-L18ERM-BB1B PAC comes with an integrated switch that allows direct connection with DLR network topology without a tap device. The use of Device Level Ring connectivity increases network resiliency. This makes the replacement of individual device possible without compromising production.
