The 1769-LSP is an essential element of any CompactLogix 5370 controller from Allen Bradley. The other part of a programmable controller is the base unit that contains input and output circuits, as well as a power supply. A Data Access Tool and Memory Modules/Real-Time Clock can be mounted on the processor. Some of the features of the 1769-LSP include Recipe, Real Time Clock Adjust, Floating Point Data File Support, Absolute Value, and Programmable Limit Switch. It doesn’t require a battery because the unit already has an internal energy-storage solution. Without the 1769-LSP, the controller can’t function properly; this module is the brain of the system. It processes the input and output of the system. It also controls all the interaction from the different modules connected to the controller.
With the help of the 1769-LSP, the 1769 CompactLogix controller provides a small but powerful system used in applications that don’t require safety or motion functionality. The controller has built-in communication ports for ControlNet or EtherNet/IP networks; it allows the operator to control distributed input and output through ControlNet, EtherNet/IP, or DeviceNet. The 1769-LSP has a durable and rugged design that it doesn’t require a chassis. The manufacturer made sure that it could withstand the harsh environment of an industrial workplace. Installing the processor into an incompatible unit can result in damage to both parts. To ensure that the part lasts as designed, use it with the right base unit.
