The Allen-Bradley 1769-OB8 is a compact solid-state 24V DC digital source and high-current output module. It is part of the 1769 Series of Compact I/O Modules. This family of modules can be used for expansion I/O in a MicroLogix controller, in an assembly with an EtherNet (1769-AENTR)/DeviceNet (1769-ADN) adapter, or with a CompactLogix controller. The 1769-OB8 features the read/writable configuration data that can be programmed to maintain the last state and user-defined conditions. Configuring the data file is done with a system-compatible software such as the RSNetWorx for DeviceNet, RSLogix 500, or RSLogix 5000.
The 1769-OB8 24V DC Digital Source I/O Module provides 8 outputs total with 4 points per group. Its voltage range is 20.4-26.4V DC. Its current draw is 145 mA at 5.1V. Its surge current of 4A for 10 ms is repeatable every 2 seconds. The input data file of the output module does not reflect the electrical state of the output terminals – whether shorted or open. It reflects the output data echo of the module.
The 1769-OB8 Module can be mounted on DIN rail or panel. Before or after mounting, the 1769-OB8 can be assembled with a controller or an adjacent I/O module to work with another system. To ensure proper electrical connections, lock the bus connectors together.
