The Allen-Bradley 1769-OV16 is a discrete output module that is part of the 1769 Compact I/O product family. This family of modules are compatible expansion I/O modules for use with the CompactLogix and MicroLogix 1500 as local or expansion I/O modules. This module comes with a single group of Sixteen (16) output channels with operating voltage range of 20.4 VDC to 26.4 VDC along a rated output current of 0.5 A @ 60 °C (140 °F) and 1.0 A @ 30 °C (86 °F) per channel. This module supports sink wiring configuration. The 1769-OV16 is a single slot module. When installing in a CompactLogix assembly, it must be located not more than Eight (8) modules away from the power supply as dictated by the Power Supply Distance rating. If installation more than the indicated distance rating cannot be avoided such that there are more than 8 instances of the module is needed or due to I/O partitioning, a system power supply may be added to qualify the CompactLogix configuration. Compatible power supplies for use with the 1769-OV16 includes 1769-PA2, 1769-PB2, 1769-PA4, and 1769-PB4.

Allen-Bradley 1769-OV16 is a CompactLogix solid-state sink output module. It comes with 16 outputs in a group and a current sinking output that comes with a removable terminal block which has a finger-safe cover for connections to the I/O sensors and actuators. This terminal block is located behind the door in front of the module. Sixteen-point communication cables are compatible with this module, particularly a copper-90 degree 22-14 AWG solid or 22-16 AWG stranded wire. When users need to wire the I/O to the module, they can do it by routing it from below the module to the I/O terminals. The 1769-OV16 measures 4.65 x 1.38 x 3.43 inches and it weighs approximately 0.61 pounds. This 24 Volts DC sink module has an operating voltage range of 20.4 to 26.4 Volts DC. It has a maximum off-state leakage current of 1 mA at 26.4 Volts DC, a minimum on-state current of 1 mA and a maximum on-state voltage drop of 1 Volts DC at 1 Amps. Its drawn current is 200 mA at 5.1 Volts and this module also has a surge current of 2 Amps for 10 milliseconds which is repeatable every 2 seconds. The maximum current per point is dependent on temperature. It is 0.5 Amps at 60 degrees Celsius and 1 Amp at 30 degrees Celsius. It is the same with the current per module as the maximum is 4 Amps at 60 degrees Celsius and 8 Amps at 30 degrees Celsius. The 1769-OV16’ maximum heat dissipation is 2.06 W while its non-condensing relative humidity is 5 to 95%. It also comes with a 0.1-millisecondoutput delay for the ON state and a 1-millisecond output delay for the OFF state. Its operating vibration is 5 g at 10 to 500 Hertz and 2 g for relay operation. The module also has a 30g operating shock, 7.5g relay operating shock, and a 40g non-operating shock when it is mounted on a panel. When mounted on a DIN rail, its operating shock is 20g and the non-operating shock is 30 g.
