The MVI69-AFC Flow Computer Module is uniquely designed by Prosoft Technology for the CompactLogix platform. This in-rack liquid and gas flow computer unit supports eight-meter channels for measuring hydrocarbon gases and liquids. The module calculates accumulated masses, heating value, flow rates, and accumulated volumes. The results of these calculations are then transferred to the processor memory or the SCADA host. In addition, the MVI69-AFC contains powerful built-in support for documenting, system configuration, monitoring, and overall project management. This module is suitable for use in applications that demand the addition of hydrocarbon flow plus SCADA communication into the CompactLogix platform. Even more, this single-slot, 1769 backplane-compatible module integrates a ladder logic file that aids the transfer of data between the module and the processor. Project configuration data can easily be downloaded over the Modbus network and saved to the personal computer (PC) under user-selectable labels or file names.
The MVI69-AFC supports CompactLogix as well as Micrologix 1500 LRP Controllers. Its maximum current load is 800 milliamps at 5 Volts DC while its operating temperature ranges from 0 to 60 degrees Celsius (32 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit). Without condensation, the module’s relative humidity range is about 5 to 95%. The ability to calculate up to 8-meter runs simultaneously makes the MVI69-AFC more efficient and cost-effective because the users can connect more gas and liquid meters to a single flow computer. Besides, the robust AFC Manager software allows users to download and view both archives and events. The Customized Modbus and Data Mapping features allow for data concentration and they reduce the communication system’s bandwidth load. Since the module offers optimal password protection, data download is completely secure with no data loss. User access is also controlled. The Audit Scan automatically captures process inputs as well as calculated results, allowing for the quick verification of calculations.
