The Allen-Bradley 5069-AENTR is a Compact 5000 Ethernet I/P communication adapter. This adapter is used with the Compact 5000 I/O modules, allowing implementation of Distributed I/O architecture over an Ethernet network. It acts as a gateway between the controllers and I/O modules and facilitates data transfer between these components.
The 5069-AENTR features dual Ethernet communication interface which support 10 / 100 Mbps and 1 Gbps communication rate. It supports linear, star and ring topologies for design of high-availability, redundant Ethernet network. This adapter supports installation of up to 31 Compact 5000 I/O modules and provides system-side power and field-side power as well.
This Ethernet I/P adapter is configured using Version 28.00 of Studio 5000 Logix designer and higher. It may be configured to act as Device Level Ring (DLR) supervisor and function in protected and unprotected mode. For industrial communication, Allen-Bradley’s Common Industrial Protocol (CIP) is primarily supported by this communication adapter.
The 5069-AENTR is provided with a Secure Digital (SD) card. It is compatible with 1784-SD1 and 1784-SD2 Allen-Bradley SD cards. Third party SD cards may be used as well however, functionality is not guaranteed by the Allen-Bradley. Up to 32 GB of memory may be installed with this communication adapter.
The 5069-AENTR has an operating temperature of 0 °C +60 °C. The device’ 220 mA @ 18-32V DC MOD power is rated; SA Power of 5 mA @ 0-32V DC; 2 mA @ 0-240V AC, 47…63 Hz ATEX/IECEx, 125V AC Max and SA power passthrough of 9.95 A @ 0-32V DC; 9.975 A @ 0-240V AC, 47…63 Hz ATEX/IECEx, 125V AC Max.
The 5069-AENTR is the only adapter that uses a DHCP mode and Power RTB. It has enhanced status indicators to track and troubleshoot systems. It has superior isolation and built-in power input since it has separate system power. The 5069-AENTR has 220 mA MOD power at 18-32V DC and 1750 mA for 70 ms MOD power inrush. At 47-63 Hz, it has 5 mA SA power at 0-32V DC and 2 mA SA power at 0-240V AC. It has MOD power passthrough of 9.78 A at 18-32V DC. Its SA power passthrough is 9.95 A at 0-32 V DC and 9.975 A at 0-240V AC with 47-63 Hz frequency. The 5069-AENTR should not exceed 10 A at the MOD or SA power RTB to avoid damages. Its isolation voltage is 300 V continuous tested at 1500V AC for 60 seconds. Its recommended external overcurrent protection is 20 A at 250V AC for SA power. It has a fast-acting current of 10-12 A at 22.5-43.2 A2t MOD power recommended external overcurrent protection. The 5069-AENTR’s wire size is a solid/stranded copper wire of 22-14 AWG, rated at 221 °F, or greater, 1.2 mm (3/64 in.) insulation m, single-wire connection only. Its grounding wire is a solid/stranded copper wire 14 AWG rated at 221 °F or greater, with a 3.5mm (0.14in) max diameter including the insulation for a single-wire connection only. For the Ethernet cable connections, only the IEC 61918 and IEC 61784-5-2 should be used. The 5069-AENTR has a 0 - 60 °C operating temperature and a -40-85 °C non-operating temperature. Its relative humidity is 5-95% non-condensing.
