The Allen-Bradley 5069-IF8 is a Compact 5000 I/O module. This module is an analog input module that mainly features Eight (8) differential input channels. Compatible Voltage signal range is ±10VDC, 0-10VDC and 0-5VDC while applicable Current signal range is 0-20 mA and 4-20 mA.
The 5069-IF8 is typically used in interfacing analog sensors and transmitters. This module accepts the analog signal and converts the received data to digital information. Conversion is accomplished via the Sigma-Delta Two 24-bit multiplexed Analog to Digital Converter (ADC). Converted data is saved in IEEE 32-bit floating point data format. The converted digital data may be further processed to enable Onboard data alarming, Scaling to engineering units and Real-time channel sampling.
This module has a scan time of 625 µs per channel and 2.5 ms per group. It also features a selectable input notch filter with available selections of 5, 10 (50/60 Default), 15, 20, 50, 60, 100, 200, 500, 1000, 2500, 5000, 10000, 15625, 25000, 31250, 62500 Hz. These filter settings are typically used to linearize data especially input data that are erratic and rapidly changing within a short period of time. Additionally, this module is comtabile for use with a Highway Addressable Remote Transducer (HART) terminal. User only needs to add a 250 ? resistor into the current loop for HART transmitter compliance. This module has embedded overvoltage protection and open circuit detection. Open circuit detection is detected when signal level are below a specific level such as + full scale, < 2 s for voltage and 4…20 mA range, < 2 s.
The channel-to-channel common mode voltage of this module is +/- 10V. It also comes with a maximum overvoltage protection of +/- 30V DC at both the voltage and current modes and with a maximum overcurrent protection of +/- 30 mA in the current mode. This drive comes with 8 yellow/red I/O indicator LEDs and 1 green/red module indicator LEDs, it uses an open-type enclosure, and it is factory-calibrated. The MOD Power or the module bus power of this module has a voltage range and a Passthrough voltage range of 18-32V DC for both ranges, the maximum current is 75 mA, and the maximum current rating is 9.55 mA. The 5069-IF8 module has a sensor actuator (SA) Field Power voltage range of 18-32V DC, the Passthrough voltage range is 0-32V DC, the maximum Field Power current is 100 mA, and the module’s maximum current rating is 9.95 A. Its maximum power dissipation is 2.1 W at the voltage mode and 2.4 W at current mode, while the maximum thermal dissipations are 7.2 BTU/hour at the voltage mode and 8.2 BTU/hour at current mode. It also operates best at a temperature of 0-60 oC and it can be stored at a temperature of -40-85 oC.
