5069-L306ERS2

The 5069-L306ERS2 is a Programmable Automation Controller (PAC) that is manufactured by Allen-Bradley. This controller is specifically a Safety controller that is part of the Compact GuardLogix controller product category. It features SIL 2 rating and embedded cpaabilities of a standard 5069-L306ER CompactLogix controller plus safety functionalities and specifications.

The 5069-L306ERS2 supports installation of up Eight (8) local Compact 5000 I/O modules which can be a mixture of standard and safety I/O modules. It also supports implementation of distributed I/O architecture over Ethernet with the use of a Compact 5000 Ethernet I/P adapter installed as the local adapter of the remote chassis. The controller communicates to each Distributed I/O assembly via the dual Ethernet I/P interfaces, embedded to the 5069-L306ERS2 controller. This communication ports support linear, star and Device Level Ring (DLR) topologies and support up to Sixteen 916) Ethernet I/P nodes and Thirty-Two (32) socket interfaces.

With the dedicated 0.3 MB safety memory, safety tasks may be downloaded to this controller. Safety tasks supported include Add-On Instructions, Controller logging, Integrated motion, Drive Safety Instructions, Ladder Diagram (LD), Language switching and Export program components.

For standard programming operation, the 5069-L306ERS2 tasks are configured and programmed using programming languages such as Ladder Diagram (LD), Structured Text (ST), Function Block Diagram (FBD), and Sequential Function Chart (SFC). While Safety task is configured using RLL and the additional safety application instructions.

This controller can support standard tasks and safety tasks, and it can use different programming languages depending on the type of tasks that it is currently handling. When the Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation 5069-L306ERS2 controller from the 5069 CompactLogix series is handling safety tasks, it uses the Ladder Diagram programming language. When the 5069-L306ERS2 controller is handling standard tasks on the other hand, it can use any one of several programming language options, including the Ladder Diagram (LD), Structured Text (ST), Function Block Diagram (FBD), and the Sequential Function Chart (SFC) programming languages.

When the 5069-L306ERS2 controller is connected to at least 1 or as many as 8 local I/O modules, these modules are Allen-Bradley Compact 5000 series I/O modules that are connected to the controller on the right side for a variety of applications.
