The 5069-L3010ERS2 by Allen-Bradley is part of the Compact GuardLogix product family. Though provided with integrated safety function, this controller remains a Programmable Automation Controller (PAC).

This controller is certified Safety Integrated Level (SIL) 3 device therefore, it can be used in applications that require use of controllers that are rated up to and including SIL 3 rating. To perform the safety capability of this controller, the 5069-L3010ERS2 is capable of being assigned with One (1) safety task which can handle up to 1000 programs, using the provided event triggers to the controller. Safety programs are downloaded to the dedicated 5MB safety memory which is programmed and configured using RLL and the additional safety application instructions.

To perform standard controller functions, the 5069-L3010ERS2 is provided with 10 MB standard user memory. This user memory may be expanded up to 32GB using Allen-Bradley recommended Secure Digital (SD) cards and code meter cards. Up to 31 Tasks may be defined for standard programs wherein up to 1000 programs using all event triggers may be configured.

Supported communication rates include 10 / 100 Mbps and 1Gbps transfer speed. It also has One (1) USB port used for any other communication task except for industrial communication and integration that the Ethernet I/P ports are capable.

The 5069-L3100ERS2 controller is part of the Allen-Bradley 5069 CompactLogix series and part of the Compact GuardLogix SIL 2 controller product line. It uses the Ethernet network for communication, and it has 1 USB port and 2 Ethernet ports that are built in. The 5069-L3100ERS2 controller from Allen-Bradley can operate safely and at full power in an ambient temperature range from 32 degrees Fahrenheit to 140 degrees Fahrenheit, and it can be stored safely in an ambient temperature range from -40 to 185 degrees Fahrenheit when it is not in use. It should never be exposed to fluids or condensation, but it can operate and be stored in environments with 5 to 95% ambient relative humidity as long as the humidity does not condense. The 5069-L3100ERS2 controller can support up to 180 Ethernet network nodes at a time, and up to 256 axes. It comes with 10 MB of user memory and 5 MB of safety memory, and it can accommodate several optional non-volatile memory modules if it needs additional memory capacity.
