The 5069-L330ERM is a CompactLogix 5380 controller. This controller mainly features integrated motion over Ethernet I/P and capable of connecting with a variety of Ethernet topology such as linear, Star and Device Level Ring (DLR). With Ethernet communication, this controller is capable of connecting plant-floor data to supervisory and enterprise level without needing to install specialty devices.
The 5069-L330ERM’s compact design allows it to be installed on a DIN rail in horizontal orientation only. Never use DIN rail made of poor or non-conductive material as the DIN rail provides grounding connection as well. It is recommended to use zinc-plated, chromate steel Din rail or the EN50022 DIN rail which measures 35 x 7.5 mm (1.38 x 0.30 in.). Removable Terminal Blocks (RTB) are also needed to allow termination of MOD and SA power connection. Appropriate RTB kits are 5069-RTB64-SCREW and 5069-RTB64-SPRING. This controller has an open type enclosure which means that it requires to be installed with a panel that provides protection against entry of industrial contaminants such as grease, oil, water, corrosive gasses and other materials.
The 5069-L330ERM dual Ethernet I/P interface supports fast ethernet and gigabit ethernet speed, specifically, 10 /100 Mbps and 1 Gbps, respectively. In addition, up to 60 Ethernet nodes may be connected, 32 socket connections may be established, maximum of 256 motion axes and 16 CIP drive axes. CIP drive connections may be composed of any combination of f CIP Drive, Virtual, Consumed, Regenerative AC/DC Converter and Non-Regenerative AC/DC Converter axis.
The embedded user memory of this controller amounts to 3 MB and ships with 2 GB user memory provided by the 1784-SD2 Secure Digital (SD) card acting as the controller’s non-volatile memory. Its integrated CIP drive axes up to 16 axes and it also has support for the Dual-IP mode and the linear/DLR mode of the Ethernet/IP. The 5069-L330ERM controller’s programming languages present are the ladder diagram (LD), the function block diagram (FBD), the sequential function chart (SFC), and the structured text (ST) languages. This controller can also handle all event triggers and up to 1000 periodic programs per task and up to 32 continuous tasks. This controller has a maximum module Power bus or MOD Power current of 450 mA, a maximum current rating of 9.55 A, and an inrush current of 850 mA for 125 ms. It also has the same MOD Power Passthrough voltage range and voltage range of 18-32V DC each. Its sensor actuator or SA Power Bus maximum current ratings are 9.95 A for DC power and 9.975 A for AC power and its maximum Field Power currents are 10 mA for DC power and 25 mA for AC power. It also has the same Passthrough voltage ranges and Field Power voltage ranges at 0-32V DC, 0-240V AC at 47-63 Hz, and ATEX/IECEX with a maximum of 125V AC.
