The 5069-L350ERMS3 is a Compact GuradLogix 5380 Controller. This is an Allen-Bradley manufacture Safety controller that comes with a SIL 3 rating. It is categorized as a Programmable Automation Controller (PAC) as it can implement both standard and safety functions at the same time.

Up to 31 Standard task is permitted while 1 safety task can be defined. It also comes with a dedicated user memory for standard functions amounting to 8 MB and 4 MB for safety memory. A non-volatile memory amounting to 2 GB via the 1784-SD2 is shipped with the controller. This non-volatile memory may be expanded up to 32 Gb as needed.

This controller communicates with partner devices using the embedded dual Ethernet interfaces. This ports support connection topologies such as Linear, Star and Device Level Ring (DLR). Supported transmission speeds are 10 / 100 Mbps and 1 Gbps. Up to 150 Ethernet nodes may be connected and 32 socket connection may be established. For motion control capability, up to 256 motion axes may be configured which may be composed of CIP Drive, Virtual, Consumed, Regenerative AC/DC Converter and Non-Regenerative AC/DC Converter axes. Specific for CIP drive axes, up to 28 may be configured with this controller.

This controller supports the star, linear, and DLR Ethernet topologies, the Dual-IP and Linear/DLR Ethernet operating modes, and the Ethernet communication speeds of 10 Mbps, 100 Mbps, and 1 Gbps. The 5069-L380ERMS3 controller supports 1 IP address that is shared by both of its Ethernet ports when it operates in the Linear/DLR mode, and it supports 2 IP addresses (1 address for each Ethernet port) when it operates in the Dual-IP mode. Its message rate capacity is 2000 messages per second and its I/O capacity is 128,000 packets per second. The 5069-L380ERMS3 controller’s operating temperature range is 32 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit and its storage temperature range is -40 to 185 degrees Fahrenheit.
