The Allen-Bradley 1756-A17K is an open-type chassis. This chassis should be installed in an appropriate enclosure designed for certain environmental conditions. The 1756-A17K is designed for the horizontal rear panel assembly. If the chassis mounting tab is not lying flat before the screws are secured, use additional washers as shims so that the chassis is not folded by the screw tack. A warped chassis can damage the backplane and cause intermittent operation. The Allen-Bradley 1756-A17K contains a ground bus. The ground bus is a common connection for each chassis inside the enclosure and the cage itself. For more information on how to install the center bus on this equipment, see the Industrial Automation Filling and Control Guide, 1770-4.1.
The weight of the Allen-Bradley 1756-A17K is around 2.2 kg (4.8 lb). The minimum cabinet of this chassis is 76.2 x 91.4 x 20.3 cm (30 x 36 x 8 inch). The relative humidity of this chassis is from 5-95% without condensation. The operating vibration of this chassis is 2 g at 10-500 Hz. The operating shock of this chassis is 30 g. The nonoperating shock of this chassis is 30 g. The 1756-A13K has a maximum surrounding air temperature of 60 °C (140 °F). The operating temperature of this chassis is from -25-60 °C (-13-140 °F).
