The 1756-IF8K unit by Allen Bradley offers a wide variety of features; a combination of both isolated and non-isolated module types, this device is equipped with 8 to 32 points per module. The variety of voltage modulation helps in direct connection and rack-optimized communication by the multiplexer. The smart combination of real-time HART data and standard analog data enhances system performance in a cost-effective way; this and other models in the series are conveniently mountable in a ControlLogix Chassis.
The module’s comprehensive I/O diagnostics detect chances of system or field side failures much ahead of time; its limit switch module is programmable and offers channel to channel isolation. Additionally, unwanted tampering of the device can be prevented with help of security modules that encrypt important information shared between servers and controllers.
This model features 4 differentials, 2 high-speed differentials, and 8 single-ended inputs for simplified communication. It has a conformal coating that shields the internal wiring from unnecessary damaging due to unwanted dust, moisture, chemicals and various temperature extremes. It also features overvoltage protection which safeguards the device from being damaged by exceeding the power supply voltage.
