The Allen-Bradley 1756-L83EK processor module is a ControlLogix 5580 processor module with 10 MB of user memory. The letter "K" at the end of the order code of the processor module means that it is a special edition processor with internal components and panels that are coated with a special film to make them able to operate in environments where there are harsh vapors, big and abrasive mechanical particles, and temperature and relative humidity levels that are constantly high. The 1756-L83EK ControlLogix 5580 processor module is a scalable controller solution that is ready to accept many inputs and outputs in the same rack. It can be positioned into any place on the ControlLogix I/O chassis. This controller receives data from I/O modules over the backplane or over its Ethernet/IP port that can reach to distributed I/O systems. The capacity of the controller for Ethernet points is 250. This controller also has 1 USB 2.0 port available.

The Allen-Bradley 1756-L83EK processor module can cover 32 tasks with 1000 programs per task. For applications in need of integrated motion, the 1756-L83EK processor module has solutions for use with the EtherNet/IP network, SERCOS interface, and analog options like LDT (Linear Displacement Transducer), encoder input, and SSI (Serial Synchronous Input). Programs entered by users that are made to control machine or system operation are stored in the non-volatile memory. The product has a high level of immunity to electrical noise, impact, and vibration. This processor module can operate at temperatures lower than 60 degrees Celsius. When the device operates normally, the “OK” and “RUN” LED indicators glow green on the front of the module.
