The 1756-L84EP module is a controller module which is designed by Allen-Bradley for its ControlLogix 5580 systems. It supports 20 Megabytes of user memory and a total of 128,000 I/O. The maximum numbers of digital and analog I/O supported by the controller are 128,000 and 4000, respectively. An SD card with a 2-gigabyte capacity ships with the controller and it can be used as additional non-volatile memory. At 1.2 Volts DC, the 1756-L84EP draws 5.0 milliamps of current, and at 5.1 Volts DC, the controller draws 1.20 Amps of current. The power dissipation of an operational controller is 6.2 Watts and the thermal dissipation of an operational controller is 21.2 BTU per hour. The controller can be used with standard and redundant power supply modules.
