About 1756-OB8EI

The Allen-Bradley 1756-OB8EI is a ControlLogix electronically-fused, isolated output module. It has been fused on a per-point basis and has 8 individually-isolated outputs. Use a removable terminal block housing for this module, particularly the 1756-TBCH and the 1756-TBS6H. Before installing it to the chassis, make sure that the chassis and power supply have already been installed and grounded.

The 1756-OB8EI module has the following features: electronic fusing, configurable point-level output states, multiple output point densities, isolated and non-isolated varieties of output modules, and output data echo. The module allows configuration of the output state in program mode, output state in Fault Mode, and transition from Program State to Fault State via the RSLogix 5000 programming software.

This module has an operating voltage of 10-30V DC and a voltage category of 12-24V DC sink/source. It has a short trip of greater than 4.5 A for a maximum of 500 µs (output on, then short) and greater than 4.5 A for a maximum of 1.5 ms (output on into short), with a +/- 1 ms timestamp of diagnostics. It has a current draw of 250 mA at 5.1V and 2 mA at 24V. The module's total backplane power is 1.30 W with a maximum thermal dissipation of 16.03 BTU/hr.
