The Allen-Bradley 1756-PB50 is a 1756 ControlLogix DC Power Supply. A ControlLogix system consists of a single controller and various I/O modules in one chassis.

The 1756-PB50 module has an input voltage range of 18 - 32V DC with 24V DC nominal input voltage. It has a maximum input power of 85W at 50 deg. Celsius (122 deg. Fahrenheit), 70W at 60 deg. Celsius (140 deg. Fahrenheit), and the maximum output power of 60 W at 0 - 50 deg. Celsius (32 - 122 deg. Fahrenheit), and 50 W at 0 - 60 deg. Celsius (32 - 140 deg. Fahrenheit). It has a current capacity of 1.5A at 1.2V DC, 2A at 3.3V DC, 8A (50 deg. Celsius) and 6A (60 deg. Celsius) at 5.1V DC and 2.5A (50 deg. Celsius) and of 2.0A (60 deg. Celsius) at 24V DC. It has dimensions of 5.51 x 3.07 x 5.71 in. and weighs 1.7 lbs. It has 250V (continuous) isolation voltage and maximum inrush current of 30A. It is installed in the left slot of the 1756 ControlLogix chassis with an open enclosure or no enclosure. It is compatible with the 1756-A4, 1756-A7, 1756-A10, 1756-A13 and the 1756-A17 (Series A, B, and C) chassis. For wiring, 2.5 mm sq. (14 AWG) solid or stranded copper wire rated at 90 deg. Celsius (194 deg. Fahrenheit) or greater with maximum insulation of 1.2 mm (3/64 in.) is used.

The 1756-PB50 power supply is intended for use in an industrial environment with a 0 - 60 deg. Celsius (32- 140 deg. Fahrenheit) operating temperature, a 30g operating shock, and a 5 - 95% noncondensing relative humidity.

The 1756-PB50 has output Current capacities of 1.5A at 1.2V; 2A at 3.3V; 8 A @ 50 °C (122 °F) 6 A @ 60 °C (140 °F) at 5.1V and 2.5 A @ 50 °C (122 °F) 2.0 A @ 60 °C (140 °F) at 24V.

This power supply does not occupy a slot in the ControlLogix chassis as it is installed in the leftmost position, outside the rack. It is designated with a specific installation location and unlike 1756 modules, this module cannot be installed to any available slot.

The 1756-PB50 is compatible for 1756-Chassis that belongs to the Series A, B, and C releases. This power supply is compatible for installation with any ControlLogix chassis as well as any type of modules specifically I/O, communication, specialty and encompass partner modules.

This power supply features a Hold-Up time capability. This feature refers to the ability of power supply to continue operation when the input voltage supply goes below the minimum supply level. Hold up time varies according to the power supply loading which specifically are 30 ms at 18 to 32V DC, 60 W load and 40 ms at 18 to 32V DC, 50 W load.
