The Allen-Bradley 1756-RM2XT is an enhanced, extreme environment redundancy module required to build a redundant system. Working in a pair with one module in each chassis, it provides supervision for the operating states and the state transitions that are the foundations for the redundancy operations framework. With regard to safety functions, it is interference-free and ideal for use in ControlLogix SIL 2 applications. It is part of the ControlLogix Redundancy Module Series and supports the ControlLogix 5560 and ControlLogix 5570 Controller families. The 1756-RM2XT can only be used with other enhanced redundancy modules. It cannot be used with the 1756-RM/A, the 1756-RM/B, or the 1756-RMXT. The ControlLogix-XT 1756-RM2XT Redundancy Module is rated for use in extreme environments and it can withstand harsh conditions. It draws currents of 1.16 A and 3.4 mA at 5.1V DC and 24V DC power sources from the backplane. It has a maximum power dissipation of 6 W and thermal dissipation of 21 BTU/hr. It occupies one slot and can be installed on any chassis-based slot. It is compatible with the Bulletin 1756-RMC series of connector cables, and the standard 1756-PAXT and 1756-PBXT power supplies.
