The Allen-Bradley 1756-RMC10 is part of the series of Bulletin 1756-RMCx cables that come in various lengths. This fiber-optic communication cable is needed for connecting ControlLogix redundancy modules in chassis pairs. It is an essential component in building a ControlLogix Redundant Programmable Controller System. The 1756-RMC10 is sold separately from other system components and can be used with both standard and extreme-environment modules. The 1756-RMC10 Redundancy Module Connector measures 10 meters (32.81 feet) in length. It is shipped with protective caps which should be removed before assembly. It is positioned in a downward orientation with the connection made at the bottom of the module. An LC connector coupler can be used between the transmitting and receiving connectors. The coupler helps in keeping the fiber-optic cable from bending sharply. This also makes connection and disconnection fast and easy, even without removing the module from the chassis. Install the 1756-RMC01 Fiber-optic Cable where it is protected from being abraded, cut, run over, or otherwise damaged. In a redundant controller system, the cable can tolerate faults on a single channel. But if a problem occurs simultaneously on both channels, network operation becomes unpredictable. To avoid this, route the trunk cables separately. This reduces the risk of having both damaged at the same time.
