The 5136-DNP-104 interface card is a ¼ length 16-bit PC/104 interface card for communication with DeviceNet and CAN-based networks. It is manufactured by SST, which is a division of Woodhead Canada, Ltd. The main features of the 5136-DNP-104 interface card are a 16-megahertz V40 processor with 128 KB of RAM, 16 KB of shared host interface memory, an optically isolated CAN interface, a DeviceNet compatible 5-pin CAN connector, a DeviceNet compatible network status indicator, support for a maximum of 1 Mbp of CAN data rate, and support for multiple DeviceNet data rates including 125, 250, and 550 Kbaud. The 5136-DNP-104 interface card comes with its own CPU which executes application software. The memory on the 5136-DNP-104 interface card supports 16-bit data and 24-bit addresses. I/O on the card supports 8-bit dates and 16-bit addresses. The interrupts are software-selectable level IRQ 2/9, 5, 7, 10, 11, 12, and 15 interrupts.
The process for installing the 5136-DNP-104 interface card in a computer comprises the following steps: turning off the computer, putting on an anti-static strap, removing the computer cover, locating an unused PC/104 slot, removing the interface card from its anti-static bag, setting the DIP switches to the selected I/O address, and then firmly pressing the interface card into the unused PC/104 slot. The power requirements for the 5136-DNP-104 interface card are 5 Volts DC and 750 milliamps. The operating and storage temperature ranges are from 0 to 50 degrees Celsius and from -40 to 85 degrees Celsius. The cables recommended for use with the card are shielded twisted-pair cables which is compatible with the target network. The external power specifications are 11 to 24 Volts DC voltage and 50 milliamps of current with 500 Volts isolation voltage.
