AN-X2-AB-DHRIO

The AN-X2-AB-DHRIO is a communication module that is manufactured by Prosoft Technology, an Allen-Bradley encompass partner company. This communication device is a small and compact device that supports desktop or DIN rail mounting. It allows modern Programmable Automation Controllers (PAC) such as the Allen-Bradley’s ControlLogix and CompactLogix controller to communicate with devices that utilizes the legacy Remote I/O (RIO) and Data Highway Plus (DH+) communication protocols. The AN-X2-AB-DHRIO comes with One (1) Ethernet I/P communication interface that supports 10/100 mbps data transmission rate. This port connects PAC ports to the gateways while the 3-pin Phoenix network connector available to the AN-X2-AB-DHRIO permits daisy-chain connection of devise such as Allen-Bradley’s PLC, SLC 500, PanelView, Drives and Flex I/O adapter modules. This communication interface supports configurable data transfer rate including 57.6, 115.2, and 230.4 K baud. It also comes with another 3-pin Phoenix connector for termination of an external 24 VDC power supply. The AN-X2-AB-DHRIO is also provided with a built-in Web server that allows remote monitoring and configuration of this gateway. Other supported operations that can be initiated over the web server are diagnostics data display, configuration, upload configuration files, and setting of the operation mode. This can be done over a standard web browser. The AN-X2-AB-DHRIO is ideal for use in integration to modern control systems of legacy devices as well as cost-effective migration of mature and obsolete products. It permits continued utilization of these devices without the need of complete replacement, providing customers a flexible and practical alternative solution to existing automation requirements.

The AN-X2-AB-DHRIO module is an Allen-Bradley Ethernet/IP to DH+ or RIO network connector. This communication module from the ControlLogix series helps to connect a ControlLogix PLC or other compatible device to the Allen-Bradley Remote I/O network. The communication module comes with 1 I/O channel. It supports all Remote I/O baud rates from 57.6 to 230.4 kbaud. The module supports rack numbers from 0 to 76 octal. This utility maps the remote I/O data to the ControlLogix scheduled data. The module connects with the ControlLogix processor by using a scheduled connection over the Ethernet. The front of the communication module has 2 LED indicators to show the status of the connection of the Ethernet, and another LED to show the module’s internal communication state. The operating temperature of the Allen-Bradley AN-X2-AB-DHRIO ControlLogix communication module should be set between 0 and 50 degrees Celsius. It can be easily mounted using a DIN rail. The AN-X2-AB-DHRIO module has a power consumption rating of 200 milliamps with a voltage rating of 12 Volts DC or 100 milliamps with 24 Volts DC. This communication module has a maximum power dissipation rating of 2.4 Watts. The AN-X2-AB-DHRIO module helps to replace existing Remote I/O PLCs. It helps to build new controller programs without interrupting existing control systems and it minimizes downtime. It comes with an auto configuration utility that discovers the baud rate and maps discrete I/O to reduce configuration errors. The communication module is equipped with a single RJ 45 10/100 Mbps Ethernet port, 1 Phoenix 3-pin power connector, and a single phoenix 3-pin network connector.
