The Logix5561 controller is a controller module from the Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation. It should never have a memory board installed on it. The Logix5561 controller module can be equipped with additional non-volatile memory if an Allen-Bradley 1784-CF64 industrial CompactFlash card is installed on it. It can also be equipped with an Allen-Bradley 1756-BATM ControlLogix battery module that will retain its memory longer than a standard battery can if it is a Series A controller module. The Logix5561 controller module can tolerate up to 95% non-condensing relative humidity.

The Allen-Bradley Logix5561 is a processor module in the ControlLogix series of controllers with part number 1756-L61 (Series A, B). It has 2 MB of user memory for data and logic and 478 KB for I/O. It has an optional nonvolatile compact flash card for creating memory backup. Multiple controllers can be installed on one ControlLogix chassis or one controller can be installed in any slot of a ControlLogix chassis. It has a program scan time of 0.08 milliseconds and weighs 0.71 pounds. It has a backplane current of 1.2 A at 5V and 14 mA at 24V. The Logix5561 processor has both a Logix and a backplane CPU to divide its resources between. A 1756-CP3 serial cable is used to connect the controller to the workstation. For communication with other devices, it uses various networks like Ethernet/IP, ControlNet, DeviceNet, etc. It can broadcast and receive system-shared tags over the EtherNet/IP or ControlNet networks. The Logix5561 has a multitasking feature which lets processing time be allocated to different operations in the application. It also contains programs for group data and logic and it provides routines for encapsulating executable code in one programming language. It supports Logix5000 Programming Languages both on and offline. In case of any I/O communication failure, it has an I/O LED that flashes green. The Logix5561 also contains a fault handler for diagnostics. It supports the 1756-BA1 or the 1756-BATM battery, both of which need to be regularly maintained.
