Logix5562

The Allen-Bradley Logix5562 Controller is a member of the Logix5000 series of ControlLogix controllers. It has an RS-232 serial port that supports communication channels like ASCII, DF1 radio modem, and Modbus. The controller can handle up to 32 controller tasks with up to 100 programs per task, including event trigger tasks. The Logix5562 It can communicate through ControlNet, DeviceNet, Remote I/O, and third-party networks. The Logix5562 controller has 4 MB of user memory and 478 KB of I/O memory and it supports a 128 MB CompactFlash card for optional additional nonvolatile memory storage. It supports a maximum of any combination of up to 128,000 digital I/O and up to 4000 analog I/O. It draws a current of 1200mA at 5.1V DC and of 14mA at 24V DC from the backplane of the chassis. Its maximum power and thermal dissipations are 3.5 W and 11.9 BTU/hour respectively. It requires one slot for mounting in a 1756 chassis and multiple Logix5562 controllers can be installed in one chassis. It can be programmed with the Relay ladder, Structured Text, Function blocks and SFC programming languages. The Logix5562 controller supports up to 250 controller connections. With full controller redundancy support, the controller is capable of Removal and Insertion Under Power (RIUP). It comes with integrated motion support on the EtherNet/IP network, on the SERCOS interface, and the analog inputs. With its slim power supply option, the controller can offer as much as a 29% reduction in space requirements.

The Allen-Bradley Logix 5562 is a ControlLogix 1756-L62 Programmable Automation Controller (PAC). This controller is a 2nd generation ControlLogix controller, being part of the 1756-L560 series. As a standard, it comes with an integrated RS-232 communication interface that supports a variety of industrial communication protocols such as DF1 Full and Half Duplex mode; DF1 Radio modem; DH-485 and MODBUS via user logic and built-in instructions.

Additionally, the Logix 5562 may be installed with optional communication modules to enable support to other industrial communication networks and protocols such as Ethernet I/P; ControlNet; DeviceNet; Data Highway Plus (DH+); Remote I/O (RIO); SyncLink and third-party process and device networks.

The Logix 5562 is provided with 4MB Data / Logic memory and 478 KB I/O memory. It may be installed with optional CompactFlash memory card with catalog number 1784-CF128 with memory amounting to 128MB. The embedded I/O memory is capable of handling a maximum of 128,000 Discrete I/O and 4000 Analog I/O.

User programs downloaded to this controller may be developed using Relay Ladder, Structured Text (ST), Function Block Diagram (FBD), and Sequential Function Chart (SFC) programming language. It occupies a single slot of any 1756 ControlLogix chassis and is compatible for use with standard and redundant power supplies. For communication to the controller, appropriate serial communication cables are 1756-CP3 or 1747-CP3, right angle connector to controller, straight to serial port, 3 meters (9.84 ft). This controller also use a battery-backed Random Access Memory (RAM) with replacement part number of 1756-BA1, 1756-BATM, 1756-BATA for Series A and 1756-BA2 for Series B controllers.
