The Allen-Bradley Logix5563 ControlLogix Controller Module is part of the Logix5000 Controller series. It includes a built-in RS-232 serial port for supporting various communications such as DF1 full/half-duplex, DH-485, and Modbus through logic communications. It handles as many as 32 controller tasks with 100 programs per ordinary task and per event trigger task. It can communicate with EtherNet/IP, DH+, SynchLink, and various third-party networks. The Logix5563 controller has 8 MB of user memory and 478 KB of I/O memory. An optional 128 MB CompactFlash card serves as non-volatile memory storage. It includes a maximum of any combination of up to 128,000 digital I/O and up to 4000 analog I/O. It draws a current of 1200mA at 5.1V DC and one of 14mA at 24V DC from the chassis backplane. It has a maximum power and thermal dissipation of 3.5 W and 11.9 BTU/hr. It needs only one slot for mounting in a 1756 chassis and multiple Logix5563 controllers can also be installed in the same chassis. It can be programmed with the Relay ladder, Function blocks, and the SFC programming languages. The Logix5563 functions at a temperature between 32-140oF at 5-95% relative humidity and a vibration range of 10-500 Hertz. The Logix5563 controller can support up to 250 controller connections. With its full controller redundancy support, the Logix5563 features Removal and Insertion Under Power (RIUP). It has integrated motion support on the EtherNet/IP, the SERCOS interface, and the analog inputs. It offers as much as a 29% reduction in space requirements.
