The Allen-Bradley Logix5564 Logic Controller Module by Allen-Bradley is a member of the Logix5000 series. Its RS-232 serial port supports communication channels like ASCII, DF1, DH-485, and Modbus. With these channels, it handles up to 32 controller tasks with up 100 programs per task. The Logix5564 also communicates through ControlNet, DeviceNet, EtherNet/IP, SynchLink, Remote I/O, DH+, and various third-party networks. The Logix5564 controller has 16 MB of user memory and 478 KB of I/O memory and a 128 MB CompactFlash card for additional nonvolatile storage. It includes a maximum I/O number made up of any combination of up to 128,000 digital I/O and up to 4000 analog I/O. It draws a current of 1200mA at 5.1V DC and of 14mA at 24V DC from the chassis backplane. Its maximum power and thermal dissipations are 3.5 W and 11.9 BTU/hour respectively. It requires one slot when mounted in a 1756 chassis and multiple Logix5564 controllers can be installed in the same chassis. It can be programmed using programming languages like Relay ladder and Function blocks. The Logix5564 controller can support as many as 250 controller connections and its full controller redundancy support gives it the convenient Removal and Insertion Under Power (RIUP) feature. It has integrated motion support on its EtherNet/IP network, its SERCOS interface, and its analog inputs. The Logix5564’s slim power supply option makes a 29% reduction in space possible. It has no enclosure.
