The Allen-Bradley Logix 5571 is part of the ControlLogix 5570 control platform. Under the Logix 5571 product range, includes Two (2) controllers, specifically, 1756-L71 and 1756-L71K. Both are standard are standard with the 1756-L71K provided with conformal coating. These controllers are ideally used for advanced or complex automation requirements, applicable for use in industrial automation requirement within the field of factory and process automation.
The Logix 5571 product category features 2MB user memory, 0/98 I/O memory and 1 GB non-volatile memory that is provided by the embedded removable 1784-SD1 Secure Digital (SD) card. These communication port may bot be used for industrial communication purposes, which requires use of communication modules that supports EtherNet/IP, ControlNet, DeviceNet, Data Highway Plus, Remote I/O, SynchLink and Third-party process and device networks.
Controllers within the Logix 5571 category support controller redundancy and comes with integrated motion function which may be implemented using SERCOS protocol, traditional analog wiring options and motion control over Ethernet I/P interface. Programming languages that are supported by the Logix 5571 product category includes Relay Ladder Logic (RLL), Structured Text (ST), Function Block Diagram (FBD) and Sequential Function Chart (SFC).
The Logix5571 controller has 2 MB user memory and 0.98 MB of I/O memory. It uses an advanced SDRAM with a 1 GB Secure Digital (SD) card installed for faster transfer and improved integrity. It includes a maximum of 128,000 digital I/O and 4000 analog I/O. It draws a current of 5mA at 1.2V DC and one of 800mA at 5.1V DC from the chassis backplane. Its maximum power and thermal dissipations are 2.5 W and 8.5 BTU/hour. The Logix5571 only requires one slot for mounting in a 1756 chassis and multiple controllers can also be installed in the same chassis. It can be programmed with the Relay ladder, Function blocks, Structured text and SFC programming languages. The Logix5571 controller can support up to 500 controller connections. With its full controller redundancy, it has the Removal and Insertion Under Power (RIUP) feature. It has integrated motion support on the EtherNet/IP, SERCOS interface, and the analog inputs. An Energy Storage Module (ESM) used with this controller eliminates the tedious job of maintaining and replacing the lithium batteries. The Logix5571 also features an onboard display that provides enhanced controller diagnostics and run-time information.
