The Logix5575 is a logic controller module from the ControlLogix line of products manufactured by Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation. This module is made to be mounted in any slot of the chassis, whether it is a local chassis or whether it is connected to a ControlLogix controller using a communication network. Having the capability to work in extreme conditions and providing a discrete and reliable operation, this module is certain to meet all industrial application needs. The conformal coating further protects the controller from the harsh conditions of the industrial environment. The Logix5575 controller comes with a built-in USB 2.0 programming and communication port and it features an Energy Storage Module (ESM). The ESM enables the controller to continue operation even when the lithium battery is empty, without the need to replace it immediately. Furthermore, the Logix5575 comes with 4 status indicators and a display with a scrolling status. Featuring 16 MB of memory and 0.98 MB of I/O memory, this controller is a high-performance unit which can be programmed using ladder logic, SFC languages, and the structured text.
The Logix5575 supports Removal and Insertion Under Power (RIUP), which means the module can be removed or inserted without the need to shut off the power. The controller draws 5 milliamps of current at 1.2 Volts DC, and it has a current draw of 800 milliamps at 5.1 Volts. The power dissipation of the module is approximately 2.5 Watts, and it has a thermal dissipation of 8.5 BTU per hour. The Logix5575 controller comes with an installed SD card, and it is advised to keep the card installed. This has many benefits because the record of all THE faults that may occur is automatically stored on the card. This diagnostic data is further used to troubleshoot the issue and fix the issue. Naturally, the users may choose to uninstall or replace the SD card, and in that case, it is recommended to use another card manufactured by Allen-Bradley, because cards from other manufacturers may not be suitable for the industrial environment and may result in the loss or corruption of data.
