The inRAx-ProSoft Technology MVI56-ADM application development module is programmable and it is primarily intended for use with the Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation ControlLogix series of modules. This module has a 110 to 115 Baud communication speed and a backplane current load of 800 milliAmps at 5.1 Volts DC/3 mA at 24 Volts DC for power supply. The MVI56 application development module is compatible with ControlLogix modules and the users can install custom ‘C’ programs on the ControlLogix platform. The ADM presents a flexible and powerful solution for speeding up custom ASCII data communications or to provide protection for the proprietary algorithm. The MVI56-ADM module serves as an input/output module and it accustomed to transferring data between the module and processor while using the processor’s memory. The ‘C’ programmable modules feature 2 serial ports (ADM), backplane interface to the processor, an API library, a portable code, a Digital Mars C++ compiler, and they are a great serial solution for custom applications. The ProSoft MVI56-ADM module belongs to the ADM Series of ProSoft Technology modules. The ProSoft MVI56-ADM module feature configuration/debugging port, application specific ports (PRT1 and PRT2), serial ports P1/P2, and single slot - 1756 compatible backplane, general software DOS 6-XL operating system and 16-bit DOS target compatible compiler.
The MVI56-ADM module features a debugging/configuration port, CFG port, serial ports P1/P2, and application specific ports (PRT1 and PRT2). The cables used for connecting the module must be 9 meters long for each port and there must be a 6 feet long RS-232 cable for configuration. Besides that, these modules include LED indicators for the status of the module, the status of the backplane transfer, the serial port activity, and the status of the application. The module is compatible with a single-slot 1756 backplane. This module operates in a temperature range of 0 to 60 degrees Celsius (32 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit) and within relative humidity levels of 5 to 95%. The storage temperature range of the module is between -40 and 85 degrees Celsius (-40 and 185 degrees Fahrenheit) and it can withstand a shock of 30 G when in operation and one of 50 G when not operating. Besides that, the module can tolerate a vibration of 5 G at a 10 to 150 Hertz frequency. The MVI56-ADM module is built to meet all of the requirements from the ATEX directive, CE, GOST-R, C/UL Class 1, the Korean KC registration, and several other relevant standards and certifications.
